Custom Stone Fireplace Surrounds, Built to Last
Marble, granite, quartzite, and more, templated to your fireplace and installed by our own crew across Tyler and East Texas.
The Short Answer
what sets apart a berry fireplace surround?
Each surround is cut from a slab chosen for your fireplace, not a standard template. We’ve shaped custom stonework for Tyler and East Texas homes for over 50 years, and you’ll see your exact surround rendered before a single cut is made.
Our Process
From Template to Finished Surround
01
Measure and Template
We come to your home and take precise measurements of your fireplace opening, hearth, and wall to build an exact template.
02
Choose Your Slab
You visit our shop and select the actual slab that will become your surround, so you see the real stone, not a sample chip.
03
See It Before We Cut
We render your chosen slab laid out to your exact dimensions so you approve the veining, the seam placement, and how the stone movement reads across the full surround before we make a single cut.
04
Fabricate
Your slab is cut on our robotic saw to fractions of a millimeter and finished with your chosen edge profile in our own shop.
05
Install
Our crew sets, seams, and secures the stone surround, then walks the finished installation with you before we leave.

Common Questions
Fireplace Surround Questions
How long does a custom stone fireplace surround take?
Our standard turnaround is about two weeks from approval to install. The installation itself is typically completed in a single visit.
Can you work around an existing firebox or insert?
Yes. We template directly to your existing firebox, insert, or mantel opening and cut the stone to fit precisely, so there are no gaps and no guesswork.
Which stone holds up best near heat?
Granite and soapstone are both naturally heat-tolerant and have been used around fireplaces for generations. Marble and quartzite are also common choices and perform well in residential fireplace applications.
Do you do the hearth as well as the surround?
Yes. We can fabricate and install both the surround and the hearth slab as a single coordinated project, using the same stone or complementary materials.
What edge profiles are available for a fireplace surround?
We offer a full range of edge profiles in our show room. During your consultation we will show you the options and help you choose one that fits the style of your room.
Can you match stone to an existing countertop or flooring?
We will do our best to source a slab that coordinates with what you already have. Bringing a photo or a sample to our shop helps us find the closest match.
